Ubiquitous expression of Irk1^GD12824 under the control of Scer\GAL4^da.G32 results in 88% lethality.

100% of wings from flies expressing Irk1^GD12824 under the control of Scer\GAL4^Bx-MS1096 show severe wing vein defects. No defects in wing size or hinge defects are seen.

Adults expressing Irk1^GD12824 under the control of Scer\GAL4^elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2^Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
