UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Larvae expressing Nmdar1GD2808 under the control of Scer\GAL41003.3 (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to enhance RNAi) show a reduced response to gentle touch compared to controls. Class III ddaA neurons in these larvae show a significant decrease in the number of dendritic sensory filopodia compared to wild type. The average length of the filopodia is significantly decreased, while the total length of primary dendritic branches is not altered.
Adults expressing Nmdar1GD2808 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
