The expression of Tom40^GD5210 under the control of Scer\GAL4^Cg.PA results in early third instar larval fat bodies with severely reduced cell sizes and dramatic accumulation of autophagosome-like structures (Atg8a-positive) wrapping ubiquitinated protein aggregates, as compared to controls.

Adults expressing Tom40^GD5210 under the control of Scer\GAL4^elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2^Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
