The expression of krzGD8470 under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 (in combination with Dicer-2, for a more efficient RNAi) leads to unexpanded and severely wrinkled wings.

Third instar larvae expressing krzGD8470 via Scer\GAL4Cg.PA, in the presence of P{UAS-Dcr-2.D}, exhibit melanotic masses and a 3-fold increase in circulating lamellocytes. When expressed via Scer\GAL4Cg.PA and in the absence of P{UAS-Dcr-2.D}, no melanotic masses or increase in lamellocytes are observed.

When expressed via Scer\GAL4da.G32 in the absence of P{UAS-Dcr-2.D}, animals survive to adulthood.

Adults expressing krzGD8470 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in lethality before the pupal stage.

Whereas Scer\GAL4Cg.PA-mediated expression of Ulp1GD7581 or krzGD8470, in the absence of P{UAS-Dcr-2.D}, does not result in a melanotic mass or circulating lamellocyte phenotype, their co-expression results in the formation of multiple melanotic masses and 10-fold higher levels of circulating lamellocytes.

Whereas Scer\GAL4da.G32-mediated expression of Ulp1GD7581 or krzGD8470, in the absence of P{UAS-Dcr-2.D}, does not result in lethality, their co-expression results in 100% at larval stages.
