Expression of phl^GD9831 in the posterior wing compartment, under the control of Scer\GAL4^en-e16E, generates a wing vein differentiation phenotype.

Adults expressing Raf^GD9831 under the control of Scer\GAL4^elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2^Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4^pnr-MD237 results in a colour difference between the central Scer\GAL4^pnr-MD237 expression domain of the notum and the surrounding lateral region in 20-30% of the Scer\GAL4^pnr-MD237 expression domain.

Knockdown of phl in a step^{dsRNA.Scer\UAS} background, through expression of phl^GD9831 in the posterior wing compartment (both transgenes under the control of Scer\GAL4^en-e16E) generates a more severe phl phenotype than in a wild-type background. The lateral vein L4 is entirely lost, both cross veins are not differentiated and the distal end of the lateral vein L5 is missing.

Expression of step^Scer\UAS.FL has no effect on the wing vein defects caused by expression of phl^GD9831 in the posterior compartment of the wing, under the control of Scer\GAL4^en-e16E.
