UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Third instar larvae expressing rdgCGD11966 (together with UAS-Dicer2 to enhance RNAi efficiency) under the control of Scer\GAL4ppk.1.9 display hypersensitive behavioral response (shortened latency till response to 42[o]C thermal probe stimulus) in a thermal nociception assay. However, rdgCGD11966 RNAi expression does not affect dendrite coverage in the ddaC dorsal multidendritic neurons compared to controls.
Adults expressing rdgCGD11966 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) show significantly reduced avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
