Expression of spiGD1779 under the control of either Scer\GAL4repo.PL or Scer\GAL4elav.PU does not affect the axon wrapping by the wrapping glia in third instar larvae.

Scer\GAL4mir-8-NP5247-mediated expression of spiGD1779 results in a dramatic reduction in neuroepithelial size in L3 larval brains. These effects are less severe if Scer\GAL4repo is used, and non-existant if Scer\GAL4moody.PS is used.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL41407 results in shorter neuroblast lineages (less daughter cells per neuroblast) in the larval brain compared to controls.

Adults expressing spiGD1779 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression of spiGD1779 under the control of Scer\GAL4Su(H).GBE partially rescues the intestinal stem cell overproliferation phenotype in Sox21aJC1/Sox21aJC1 mutant intestines.

The larval neuroepithelium defects caused by Scer\GAL4repo-mediated expression of mir-8Scer\UAS.cVa are enhanced by co-expression of spiGD1779.

Some Scer\GAL4repo, mir-8Scer\UAS.cVa, spiGD1779 larval brains exhibit areas of cell death, seemingly necrotic (not apoptotic) cell death.

Expression of spiGD1779 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 significantly suppresses the sleep defects seen in homozygous rho-5KO1 mutants.
