UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Expression of variGD13798 under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PS at 25[o]C does not alter the morphology of transition zone tubes.
Adults expressing variGD13798 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.
Expression of variGD13798 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) results in viable flies or partial lethality, depending on the particular P{GD13798} insertion line used.
Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in lethality at the pupal stage or at eclosion, depending on the insertion line used.
Embryos expressing variGD13798 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 have large dilations along the dorsal trunk.
Expression of variGD13798 under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.PU results in patches of mis-aligned hairs in the wing. Unextended wing hairs are also seen.
Scer\GAL4btl.PS/variGD13798 is a suppressor of terminal tracheal cell | third instar larval stage phenotype of GckIIIwheezy-770
Expression of variGD13798 under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PS partially suppresses the tracheal morphogenesis defects seen in GckIIIwheezy-770 mutant third instar larvae. Transition zone dilation is completely suppressed in 52% of terminal cells and partially suppressed in a further 20%. An additional 9% show a discontinuous tube phenotype reminiscent of that seen in Nsf2 mutants.
