Prothoracic gland clones expressing torGD14396 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PI have smaller nuclei than neighboring cells.

Expression of torGD14396 under the control of Scer\GAL4phm.PO or Scer\GAL4tim.PE significantly reduces the circadian rhythmicity of adult emergence after transfer to constant darkness, compared to controls; this effect does not occur when torGD14396 is expressed under the control of both Scer\GAL4tim.PE and Scer\GAL80phm.1.2. Expression of torGD14396 under the control of Scer\GAL4phm.PO, or the combination of Scer\GAL4tim.PE and Scer\GAL80phm.1.2, does not affect the rhythmicity of adult locomotor behavior, compared to controls.

Expression of Scer\GAL4elav-C155>torGD14396 results in the loss of light avoidance in larvae.

Expression of Scer\GAL4αTub84B.PL>torGD14396 results in the loss of light avoidance in larvae.

Expression of Scer\GAL4Ptth.cMa>torGD14396 does not cause any change in larval light avoidance.

Expression of Scer\GAL4Kr.5.1>torGD14396 in the Bolwig's organ abolishes larval light avoidance.

Expression of Scer\GAL4GMR.PFa>torGD14396 in the Bolwig's organ abolishes larval light avoidance.

Expression of Scer\GAL4ppk.1.9>torGD14396 in class IV da neurons abolishes larval light avoidance.

Expression of Scer\GAL4GMR.PFa>torGD14396 in motorneurons fails to abolish larval light avoidance.

Scer\GAL4phm.PO-driven expression of torGD14396 in larvae delays pupariation by 5.8 days as compared with Scer\GAL4phm.PO-control animals, and it leads to excessive growth during the prolonged third instar larval stage, resulting in increased pupal size. Feeding Scer\GAL4phm.PO>torGD14396 larvae with 20-hydroxyecdysone completely rescues the developmental delay and overgrowth.
