Scer\GAL4E409 drives expression in a subset of gustatory receptor neurons of the labellum that project to the anteriormost region of the anterior maxillary sensory center (AMS1).
Scer\GAL4E409 is expressed in the gustatory receptor neurons of the labellar taste pegs of the proboscis which are sensitive to carbon dioxide. Expression of Scer\GAL4E409 in the proboscis is distinct from the expression of Avic\GFPGr66a.3x.IRES.2x or Avic\GFPGr5a.3x.IRES.2x. The projection of the neurons labeled by Scer\GAL4E409 in the anterior subesophageal ganglion does not overlap with the projections labeled by Avic\GFPGr66a.3x.IRES.2x or Avic\GFPGr5a.3x.IRES.2x.
Silencing of neurons expressing Scer\GAL4E409 results in increased larval floating in a density-based assay for body fat content. Activation of neurons expressing Scer\GAL4E409 results in decreased larval floating in a density-based assay for body fat content.
