Insertion approximately 2kb of the salm locus, such that expression from the Scer\UAS sites present in the insertion (using a Scer\GAL4 driver) results in overexpression of the salm locus.

    Detailed Description
    Statement
    Reference

Expression of salmB1164 under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 results in an outgrowth on the sternopleura of the fly. This outgrowth looks morphologically like notum tissue. The flies also have wing and leg defects.

Mesothoracic leg discs expressing salmB1164 under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 show extra growth in dorsal cells.

Expression of B1164B1164 under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 results in a notum-like outgrowth at the sternopleura.

Expression of B1164B1164 under the control of Scer\GAL4dpp.blk1 results in a notum-like outgrowth at the sternopleura. In addition, the proximal parts of the wings and legs are shortened. In the wing, this can result in the anterior crossvein being absent.
