      Expression of Doa69.long3'UTR.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4Lsp2.PH results in male lethality and reduced viability of females.

      Expression of Doa69.long3'UTR.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in ommatidial fusion and disorganisation. Small holes are seen in the surface of the ommatidia at high magnification.

      Expression of Doa69.long3'UTR.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 results in lethality with no escapers.

      Expression of Doa69.long3'UTR.Scer\UAS under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in a variable eye phenotype (ranging from roughened eyes, fused and missing ommatidia and pigment loss, through to almost complete elimination of the facets, with little if any pigment and a greatly reduced eye size), depending on the particular P{UAS-Doa.69.long3'UTR} insertion line used and the temperature.
