UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Adult flies expressing CalpBJF01983 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PU display significantly reduced ability to climb compared to the age-matched controls, this climbing defect is more pronounced in 5-day-old than in 1-day-old flies. Axonal defects (axons at neuromuscular junctions are larger than in controls) are observed in CalpBJF01983 expressing larvae.
Expression of CalpBJF01983 under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR (with UAS-Dicer2 to increase RNAi efficiency) does not result in locomotion defects in third instar larvae, while in embryos, the length and width of the lateral transverse muscles is normal.
