Expressing Cka^KK100338 under the control of Scer\GAL4^C587 (together with Dicer-2, for a more efficient RNAi) leads to L3 male gonad defects: small gonads with supernumerary strongly DAPI-positive cells throughout, whereas control gonads exhibit brighter DAPI-stained DNA in the apical region of the tissue, where the GSCs, gonialblasts, TA spermatogonia, CySCs and CyCs reside. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4^upd1.PU or Scer\GAL4^nos.PU does not yield any obvious phenotype.

Expression of Cka^KK100338 under the control of CtxGlia-SplitGal4 (Hsim\VP16^AD.nrv2 and Scer\GAL4^{DBD.wrapper.932i}) leads to an altered cortex glial morphology in third instar larvae when compared to controls.
