UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of an inverted repeat.
Expressing CkaKK100338 under the control of Scer\GAL4C587 (together with Dicer-2, for a more efficient RNAi) leads to L3 male gonad defects: small gonads with supernumerary strongly DAPI-positive cells throughout, whereas control gonads exhibit brighter DAPI-stained DNA in the apical region of the tissue, where the GSCs, gonialblasts, TA spermatogonia, CySCs and CyCs reside. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4upd1.PU or Scer\GAL4nos.PU does not yield any obvious phenotype.
Expression of CkaKK100338 under the control of CtxGlia-SplitGal4 (Hsim\VP16AD.nrv2 and Scer\GAL4DBD.wrapper.932i) leads to an altered cortex glial morphology in third instar larvae when compared to controls.
