The expression of domeKK104700 under the control of Scer\GAL4sd.PU (and Dicer-2, for more efficient RNAi) leads to a high prevalence of vestigial or absent wings and/or a reciprocal duplications of mesonotum structures, associated with the frequent decrease/loss of the wing field primordium and/or a reciprocal mesonotum primordia duplication in third instar larval wing discs, as compared to controls; this Scer\GAL4sd.PU-driven expression also results in third instar larval wing discs showing a severe size reduction, which is particularly evident in the posterior compartment, as compared to controls. The same severe posterior compartment size reduction is observed upon expression under the control of Scer\GAL4en-e16E (and Dicer-2, for more efficient RNAi). Conversely, expression under the control of Scer\GAL4ci.PU does not lead to any significant change in the size of the third instar larval anterior compartment, as compared to controls.

Scer\GAL4tj-NP1624-mediated expression results in 'fused' egg chambers in which individual chambers are covered by an epithelium but not separated by a stalk.

The non-autonomous induction of ectopic wing structures in third instar larval wing discs resulting from the expression of domeKK104700 under the control of Scer\GAL4ci.PU is suppressed by the co-expression of domeΔCYT.Scer\UAS.
