The expression of Bub3GD9924 under the control of Scer\GAL4e22c leads to X chromosome aneuploidy and to a significant increase in the larval wing disc posterior compartment of both females and males; loss of the X chromosome was never detected in males. Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4ey.PH leads to a small decrease in eye size, as compared to controls.

Adults expressing Bub3GD9924 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.PLu (in the presence of Dcr-2Scer\UAS.cDa to increase the efficiency of RNAi) do not show a significant defect in avoidance of noxious temperature (46[o]C) compared to control flies.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in loss of bristles on the notum in 60-70% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain.

Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 results in bristle morphology defects on the notum in 20-30% of the Scer\GAL4pnr-MD237 expression domain.

The co-expression of Bub3GD9924 and BacA\p35UAS.cHa under the control of Scer\GAL4ap-md544 induces wing disc neoplasia which, when transplanted, can form solid tumors in the host; in both wing discs and allografts there is amplification of the resident myoblast population, as well as accumulation of circulating hemocytes. The same tumor induction and hemocyte recruitment occurs if expression is only induced in wing disc transplants (expression induction is controlled by Gal80[ts] and temperature-shift); hemocyte ablation on the host (by expressing rprUAS.C under the control of Scer\GAL4He.PZ) does not suppress the tumor-like growth; myoblast ablation on the host (by expressing rprlexAop.cSa under the control of Ecol\lexAGMR15B03) does not suppress the tumor-like growth.
