Ilp641 homozygous mutant third instar larvae present decreased numbers of abdominal lateral and dorsal, but not ventral, adult muscle precursor cells, as compared to controls.

Mutant adults show a reduction in mass compared to controls.

Mutant wandering stage larvae have normal levels of circulating carbohydrates and of triacylglycerides.

The growth of Ilp641 adults is compromised relative to that of control animals upon starvation (the mutant adults show a greater reduction of mass under starvation conditions compared to standard feeding conditions than do control adults).
