Detailed Description
Statement
Reference

ghoG200 mutant embryos have narrow tracheal lumina with small apical cell surfaces. Dorsal trunk length is only slightly reduced compared to controls. ghoG200 mutant dorsal trunk cells compensate for their smaller surface by stretching axially.

Ventral denticle belts are absent in mutant embryos and the head skeleton is strongly reduced and is unpigmented.

The dorsal trunk lumen is narrow in stage 16 stenG200/stenH24 embryos.

Cells of the tracheal dorsal trunk show conical profiles at stage 16 in mutant embryos, with a small, convex apical surface lacking cuticular taenidia, and the entire lumen is filled with matrix material. The endoplasmic reticulum lumen is dramatically enlarged compared to wild type. Basolateral septate junctions are still present.

The increased diameter of the dorsal trunk lumen that is seen in embryos expressing crbScer\UAS.cWa under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PS is suppressed in a stenG200 background.
