Imprecise excision of P{EP}AsEP3214 removes part of the As and CG7600 coding regions.
Transheterozygous AsΔ15-8/AsΔ3-8 third instar mutant larval ddaC neurons exhibit a significantly reduced number of dendritic terminal branches, although the overall branching patterns of ddaC neurons in the A3 segment, especially the primary and secondary branches, remain the same as in wild-type larvae.
Terminal dendritic branches of ddaC neurons in AsΔ15-8/AsΔ3-8 transheterozygous mutants are much shorter than in wild-type, with patches of the target field devoid of dendrites.
AsΔ3-8 mutant ddaC neurons (in an otherwise wild-type larva) exhibit defective dendritic growth (with fewer terminal dendritic branches) and branching.
The number of dendritic branches is decreased in ddaE and ddaF neurons that are homozygous for AsΔ3-8.
