Expression of DysbScer\UAS.cDa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 in a Dysbe01028/+ mutant background has no effect on excitatory junction potential (EJP) amplitude or miniature EJP frequency compared to controls.

Expression of DysbScer\UAS.cDa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 has no effect on excitatory junction potential (EJP) amplitude or miniature EJP frequency compared to controls.

Overexpression of dysbScer\UAS.cDa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 leads to potentiation of baseline release.

In larvae expressing dysbScer\UAS.cDa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155, synaptic transmission at the neuromuscular junction is normal at low extracellular Ca[2+] (0.2 and 0.3mM) but is enhanced at relatively high extracellular Ca[2+] (0.5mM).

Expression of DysbScer\UAS.cDa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 in a Blos1EY06269/+; Dysbe01028/+ mutant background has no effect on excitatory junction potential (EJP) amplitude or miniature EJP frequency compared to controls. The mEJP amplitude is increased, similar to that seen in Blos1EY06269/+ mutant flies.

The potentiation of baseline release that is seen in larvae expressing DysbScer\UAS.cDa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 is no longer seen if the animals are also expressing P{GD12574} under the simultaneous control of both Scer\GAL4elav-C155 and Scer\GAL4sca.PC.

Comments

Presynaptic expression of DysbScer\UAS.cDa using Scer\GAL4elav-C155 restores the homeostatic quantal content increase to wild-type levels in Dysbe01028 mutants.

Expression of dysbScer\UAS.cDa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155, but not under the control of Scer\GAL4Mhc.PW, rescues homeostatic compensation after treatment of neuromuscular junctions with with philanthotoxin-433 in dysbe01028 mutants.
