Heterozygous ban20 has no effect on eye morphology.

Two day old germaria from ban20/Df(3L)emc-E12 animals contain an average of 1.54 germline stem cells, which is fewer than controls (2-3 per germarium). This drops to 0.80 in 7 day old mutant germaria, and 0.33 in 14 day old mutant germaria, compared to controls which maintain approximately 2 germline stem cells.
