Flies expressing ykiJF03119 under the control of Scer\GAL4tin.CΔ4 have increased ventricular diameters at the end of systole and diastole and a reduction in fractional shortening compared with controls. The heart walls are thinner compared with controls but cardiomyocyte number is the same as in controls. Average cardiomyocyte ploidy is unaffected.

The cardiomyocytes abnormalities are partially suppressed.
