Detailed Description

Co-expression of Pp2B-14DDN.Scer\UAS.P\T with Pp2B-14Dact.Scer\UAS driven by Scer\GAL4en-e16E suppresses the Pp2B-14Dact.Scer\UAS-induced wing phenotypes, whereas expression of Pp2B-14DDN.Scer\UAS.P\T alone does not affect wing morphology.

Embryos derived from mothers expressing Pp2B-14DDN.Scer\UAS.P\T in the germ-line by Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 exhibit semi-lethality. Cells in most of the early embryos of these mutants enter into mitotic stages.

Expression of Pp2B-14DDN.Scer\UAS.P\T under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 fails to rescue the meiotic defects in 97.3% of Pp2B-14DKO CanA-14FKO double mutant eggs.

Heterozygosity for sraKO enhances the lethality resulting from the overexpression of Pp2B-14DDN.Scer\UAS.P\T in the female germ-line driven by Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16. Most of the mutant cells fail to complete meiosis. Defects in these eggs vary from oocyte to oocyte, but a large number of eggs lack a characteristic structure of polar bodies known as the rosette structure formed after two rounds of meiotic division.

Co-expression of sraScer\UAS.cEa driven by Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 suppresses the embryonic lethality resulting from the overexpression of Pp2B-14DDN.Scer\UAS.P\T in the female germ-line.
