The defect in the hypoxia escape response that is seen in Gyc-89DbMB03197 larvae is rescued by expression of Gyc-89DaScer\UAS.cVa under the control of either Scer\GAL4Gyc-89Da.1.9 or Scer\GAL4Gyc-89Db.3.4.

The failure to change larval exploratory behaviour that is seen in Gyc-89DbMB03197 larvae downshifted from 21 to 19% oxygen or upshifted from 21 to 25% oxygen is rescued by expression of Gyc-89DaScer\UAS.cVa under the control of Scer\GAL4Gyc-89Db.3.4, but is not rescued by expression of Gyc-89DaScer\UAS.cVa under the control of Scer\GAL4Gyc-89Da.1.9.

The lack of caffeine avoidance seen in Gyc-89DbMB03197 or Gyc-89DbMB03197/Gyc-89Dae01821 double mutants can be rescued through expression of Gyc-89DaScer\UAS.cVa under the control of Scer\GAL4Gyc-89Da.1.9. In contrast, expression of Gyc-89DaScer\UAS.cVa under the control of Scer\GAL4Gyc-89Db.3.4 fails to suppress the sucrose ambivalence phenotype.

The loss of caffeine avoidance behaviour at low concentrations of caffeine in Gyc-89Dae01821 mutants is rescued by expressing Gyc-89DaScer\UAS.cVa under the control of Scer\GAL4Gyc-89Db.3.4.
