ScerGAL4GMR20B01 drives expression in interneurons in the embryonic/larval central nervous system. Labeling is seen in a subset of neurons in the first instar larval brain and very few neurons of the ventral nerve cord. The number of labelled neurons in the abdominal neuromeres is increased in wandering third instar larva but expression in the brain is no longer observed at this stage.
Inhibition (using Ctet\tetXTNT-LC.UAS) of Scer\GAL4GMR20B01 cells significantly reduces larval escape behavior in response to HCl application, compared to controls.
