Expression of Klp64DScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of Scer\GAL4Cha.7.4 partially restores cilia growth in the sensilla basiconica and sensilla trichodea of the antennae in Kap3V5 and Kap3V6 adults (cilia length is restored almost to wild type, while cilia volume is restored to approximately 25% of the normal level). Odor-evoked electroantennogram responses are also partly restored in these animals (assayed in response to ethyl acetate, n-butanol, benzaldehyde and propionic acid).
Expression of Klp64DScer\UAS.T:Avic\GFP under the control of either Scer\GAL4SG18.1 or Scer\GAL4Cha.7.4 rescues the reduced electroantennogram response of homozygous Klp64Dk1 adults in response to ethyl acetate, n-butanol, benzaldehyde or propionic acid.
