Expression of dsx^KK111266 under the control of Scer\GAL4^Bx-MS1096 results in partial male lethality at 25[o]C. The adult flies that are seen exhibit almost complete wing loss.

Expression of dsx^KK111266 under the control of Scer\GAL4^Bx-MS1096 results in female flies with almost complete wing loss.

Expression of dsx^KK111266 under the control of Scer\GAL4^C587 (in combination with a Gal80[ts] transgene to restrict expression to the adult stage) in adult males results in most testes exhibiting germ cell overproliferation and arrest at early spermatogonial stages, and some testes contain small aggregates of somatic cells that resemble follicle-like cells, but these never develop into a full layer of follicle-like cells.
