The expression of Lsd-1UAS.mCherry under the control of Scer\GAL4ppl.PU leads to small lipid droplets in the adult fat body; adults are sensitive to infection with S. typhimurium or E. coli (increased mortality and increased bacterial load). Expression under the control of Scer\GAL4Switch1.106, induced by RU486 just before infection, still induces small lipid droplets in the adult fat body and sensitivity to infection.
The level of circulating lipid in the hemolymph is increased in larvae expressing Lsd-1Scer\UAS.T:Disc\RFP-mCherry under the control of Scer\GAL4tub.PU compared to controls under fed conditions.
