Detailed Description

Ncc69r2 homozygous and Ncc69r2/Df(3L)ED4475 transheterozygotes display increased circadian period when under constant darkness; Ncc69r2 homozygotes also exhibit decreased rhythmicity.

Ncc69r2 homozygotes exhibit decreased morning anticipation activity.

The abdominal nerves of mutant third instar larvae have localised swellings or bulges. The phenotype is completely penetrant, with bulges appearing along the lengths of the nerves in all animals examined. Axons and glia may be separated by a large amount of extracellular space in mutant third larval instar nerves, in contrast to wild type. The mutants survive to adulthood.

Evoked action potential activity in response to trains of tetanic stimuli is unaffected in mutant larvae, even at the highest stimulation frequency tested (100Hz).
