Expression of kccKK107965 under the control of any of the following drivers is largely ineffective in inducing bang-sensitive paralytic behavior: Scer\GAL4Aph-4-c507 (ellipsoid body), Scer\GAL4RapGAP1-OK6 (motor neuron) Scer\GAL4Tab2-201Y, Scer\GAL4Mef2.247, Scer\GAL4ey-OK107 or Scer\GAL4c747 (mushroom body).

Expression of kccKK107965 in glial cells under the control of Scer\GAL4repo.PU results in substantial bang-sensitive paralytic behavior.

Expression of kccKK107965 in a subset of neuronal cells under the control of Scer\GAL4OK307 results in substantial bang-sensitive paralytic behavior. The threshold to evoked seizure-like discharges in these flies is 1/4 of that of wild type. Brain volume is increased compared to controls. Giant fiber and lateral pace-making neurons are enlarged compared to controls. The enlarged giant fiber neurons expressing exhibit diffuse and elongated dendrites that lack distinctive spines.

Expression of kccKK107965 under the control of Scer\GAL4elav-C155 causes nerve swelling. Third instar larval abdominal nerves display an increase in the average never cross-sectional area compared to controls.
