The expression of gro^{Scer\UAS.P\T.cCa} under the control of Scer\GAL4^109-30, in combination with gal80[ts] to restrict expression to adulthood, leads to a significant increase in the frequency of multilayered or elongated basal stalks, as compared to controls.

Maternal expression of gro^{Scer\UAS.P\T.cCa} under the control of Scer\GAL4^{nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16} results in 56% loss of the intermediate neuroblast column of the neuroectoderm in embryos.

Maternal expression of gro^{Scer\UAS.P\T.cCa} under the control of Scer\GAL4^{nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16} results in a low hatching rate and a range of segmental cuticular defects. in 34.2% of the dead larvae, a loss or reduction of terminal structures (such as the head and filzkorper) is also seen.
