In flies expressing SdcdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PS the 10 dorsal branches of the tracheal system often fail to establish a dorsal anastomosis at the midline. The frequency of missing anastomoses varies between segments, but overall almost half of all dorsal branches fail to fuse.

Flies expressing SdcdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cSa in the tracheal fusion cells using Scer\GAL4esg-p127 have missing dorsal anastomoses in the 10 dorsal branches of the tracheal system.

Expression of SdcdsRNA.Scer\UAS.cSa under the control of Scer\GAL4btl.PS results in a higher rate of unfused tracheal dorsal branch segments per animal compared to wild type.
