    Description

ebiΔ1 is an 8bp deletion within the 10bp sequence GCGTAGGAGC

The mutant chromosome retained a 'GC' dinucleotide in this position, so it is not possible to distinguish between:

    - del of first 8bp: GCGTAGGA

    - del last 8bp: GTAGGAGC

    - del of middle 8bp: CGTAGGAG

8 bp deletion, resulting in frame-shift from codon 294 and the introduction of a STOP codon at position 334 (prior to the WD repeat-encoding region).

    Comment:

8 bp deletion within the 10 bp sequence GCGTAGGAGC, resulting in frame-shift from codon 294 and the introduction of a STOP codon at position 334. The mutant chromosome retained a GC dinucleotide at the site, making it impossible to tell exactly which bases were deleted.

ebiP7/ebiΔ1 wings are 84% the size of control wings. Wing cell size is unaffected - the wing size reduction is the result of fewer cells. Gross defects in wing patterning are not apparent. There is no significant decrease in the size of other organs or the whole organism.

ebiΔ1 is similar, but not identical, to the ebiCC4 mutation described in FBrf0131258. ebiΔ1 was obtained from P. Heitzler, who is an author of FBrf0131258, raising the possibility that ebiΔ1 and ebiCC4 are in fact the same allele, but that different labs produced conflicting sequencing results/analysis.
