Compared with wild-type, homozygous DskGD6123 mutants exhibit mild neuromuscular junction (NMJ) undergrowth.

Compared with wild-type, DskGD6123/DskEP3632 mutants exhibit mild NMJ undergrowth.

Compared with wild-type, hemizygous Dskf02468b/Df(3R)2-2 larvae exhibit pronounced NMJ undergrowth.

The NMJ undergrowth phenotypes of homozygous Dskf02468b or hemizygous Dskf02468b/Df(3R)2-2 larvae are rescued by Dp(3;1)2-2.

Dskf02468b/+ heterozygotes do not display NMJ) defects.

The size and frequency of miniature excitatory junction potentials (mEJPs) from muscle 6 of Dskf02468b/Df(3R)2-2 mutants does not differ from that of wild-type. However, the size of excitatory junction potentials (EJPs) is reduced in Dskf02468b/Df(3R)2-2 mutants compared with wild-type.

Under dim light conditions, the distance travelled by Dskf02468b/Df(3R)2-2 third instar larvae in one minute at 20-22[o]C is slightly reduced compared to wild type. The frequency of peristaltic contractions under these conditions is also slightly reduced. Under bright light at 27-30[o]C (stress conditions) the mutant larvae travel significantly less far than wild type in one minute. Under these conditions, the frequency of peristaltic contractions is reduced in the mutant larvae compared to wild type.

Whereas Df(1)Exel9051/+ alone or Dskf02468b/+ heterozygotes alone do not display neuromuscular junction (NMJ) defects, Df(1)Exel9051/+; Dskf02468b/+ double heterozygotes exhibit a strong reduction in synaptic bouton number. In contrast, heterozygosity for Dskf02468b does not further enhance the NMJ undergrowth phenotype of Df(1)Exel9051/Y mutants.

The NMJ undergrowth phenotype of homozygous Dskf02468b is suppressed by Scer\GAL4elav-C155-driven overexpression of CCKLR-17D1Scer\UAS.cCa.

Comments

The neuromuscular junction (NMJ) undergrowth phenotype of homozygous Dskf02468b larvae is rescued by Scer\GAL4elav-C155-driven expression of DskScer\UAS.cCa.
