A candidate cis-regulatory fragment (genomic DNA) is fused upstream of a Drosophila synthetic core promoter (DSCP) followed by sequence encoding a GAL4 driver.
ScerGAL4VT45599 labels antennal mechanosensory and motor center B1b (AMMC1-B1b) projection neurons that respond maximally to auditory stimuli of 100Hz and 300Hz. Using GFP reconstitution across synaptic partners (GRASP) reveals that the AMMC-B1b projection neurons labeled with ScerGAL4VT45599 establish connections in the AMMC with a subset of Johnston organ neurons labeled with EcollexAL5219.
