Expression of Mmus\Mdm2Scer\UAS.cFa under the control of Scer\GAL4Bx-MS1096 results in wing defects which differ in severity, depending on the insertion line used: either a weaker, blistered phenotype or a stronger, gnarled phenotype is seen. There is a dramatic increase in the number of apoptotic cells in the wing disc in mutant third instar larvae, while the number of proliferating cells appears normal.

Expression of Mmus\Mdm2Scer\UAS.cFa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF results in eye defects which differ in severity, depending on the insertion line used: either rough or small eyes are produced. In flies with rough eyes, disorganisation of the interommatidial bristles and some ommatidial fusion is seen. In flies with small eyes, there is complete disorganisation of the interommatidial bristles and ommatidia are hardly visible. The level of apoptosis and cell proliferation in the eye disc appears normal in mutant third instar larvae.

Co-expression of BacA\p35Scer\UAS.cHa or E2fGMR.PD does not rescue the eye phenotype caused by expression of Mmus\Mdm2Scer\UAS.cFa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF.

The eye phenotype caused by expression of Mmus\Mdm2Scer\UAS.cFa under the control of Scer\GAL4GMR.PF is not rescued if the flies are also carrying either Akt104226 or E2f07172.
