UASt regulatory sequences drive expression of a 500bp inverted repeat.
Expression of LamCNIG.10119R under the control of Scer\GAL4sr-md710 results in early pupal lethality in 17% of cases, head eversion defects in 73% of cases, and pupal lethality after head eversion in 6% of cases. Only 4% of the animals emerge as adults. Mislocated muscles are seen in the mutant pupae.
Larvae expressing LamCNIG.10119R under the control of Scer\GAL4sr-md710 do not show the normal regular distribution of tendon cells from 2 days after hatching onwards. This defect in tendon cell distribution is most obvious in pupae which have failed to undergo head eversion. The morphology of the tendon cell nuclei is abnormal in the mutant third instar larvae and tendons are seen detaching from the ends of contracting muscles.
Expression of LamCNIG.10119R under the control of Scer\GAL4how-24B results in early pupal lethality in 12% of cases and head eversion defects in 88% of cases. None of the animals emerge as adults. Mislocated muscles are seen in the mutant pupae.
