Approximately 57% of CORLDf(4)CORL homozygotes die as larvae and an additional 22% die as pupae with 21% surviving to adulthood.
CORLDf(4)CORL larvae exhibit poor growth, developmental delay, they wander away from food precociously and prematurely evert their anterior spiracles. CORLDf(4)CORL adults have greatly reduced lifespans and poor female fertility. CORLDf(4)CORL mutant mushroom bodies exhibit numerous structural defects such as shortened, misshapen or missing dorsal lobes, β-neurons that cross the midline and γ-lobe pruning defects.
fussDf(4)CORL is rescued by Scer\GAL4238Y/fussUAS.cTa
Tissue specific expression of CORLScer\UAS.cTa under the control of Scer\GAL4238Y rescues the CORLDf(4)CORL mutant phenotype.
