flwG0172 mutants carrying stckQ38A.T:Zzzz\FLAG arrest during the larval stages. The larvae are significantly smaller and significantly less motile than flwG0172 single mutant larvae. Expression of stckQ38A.T:Zzzz\FLAG does not rescue the detachment of ventral intersegmental muscles seen in flwG0172 larvae.
The addition of icsBG02577 reduces the viability of flies expressing stckQ38A.T:Zzzz\FLAG in a stck3R-17/stck18 mutant background. Between 6 and 34% of the expected number of progeny are seen, with the majority of the lethality taking place during the larval and pharate stages. The rescued larvae display a range of sizes, including presumptive first instar larvae that appear stumpy, exhibit sluggish movement and do not progress in development.
Expression of stckQ38A.T:Zzzz\FLAG rescues the embryonic and larval lethality seen in stck3R-17/stck18 mutants. The rescued flies are fertile and do not display either wing blisters or any other overt phenotypes.
