      ScerGAL4ple.TH-F-3 drives expression in a subset of the dopaminergic neurons in the adult brain labelled by ScerGAL4ple.PF : around 2 PPM2 neurons, 2 PPM3 neurons (of the mFB and vFB types) and 4 PPL1 neurons (of the DP, MB-V1 and MP-MP1 types). There was also some non-systematic expression in less than 1 neuron in the PPL2 cluster.

      Inhibition (using Hsap\KCNJ2UAS.EGFP) of Scer\GAL4ple.TH-F-3 cells, in combination with a Gal80[ts] transgene to restrict expression to the adult stage, significantly reduces aversive shock, but not temperature, olfactory memory, compared to controls, with no effect on temperature avoidance.
