Expressing gbbUAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4Mhc.Switch.PO (after feeding with RU486) results in supernumerary mature and satellite boutons at the NMJ in third instar larvae.

Expression of gbbUAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4A9 causes an increase in the number of wing veins in the adult.

Expression of gbbScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4elav.Switch.PO in the presence of RU486 results in vacuolisation and increased cell death in the brains of 20 day old flies.

Flies expressing gbbScer\UAS.cUa under the control of Scer\GAL4vg.PM show show ectopic wing vein formation.

7-day old germaria expressing gbbScer\UAS.cUa via Scer\GAL4hh.PU (with expression controlled via 'UAS-gal80[ts]' and temperature) have normal numbers of germline cell stems (GSCs) and cap cells. However, 63-day old germaria have a significantly greater number of GSCs and cap cells compared to controls, demonstrating increased maintenance rates. They also carry significantly more cysts than controls at this age. BrdU labelling rates are unaffected at young ages in the mutant germaria, but are significantly increased at 63-day old germaria compared to controls.
