Scer\GAL4CrzR.3.5 drives expression in 2 pairs of interneurons in the abdominal ganglion, and in the male reproductive system organs. In the abdominal ganglion, expression of Scer\GAL4CrzR.3.5 is closely intermingled with the expression of Crz.
Optogenetic activation (using Cnoc\ChR1::Csub\ChRCsChrimson.IVS.20xUAS.Venus with 650 nm (red) light) of Scer\GAL4CrzR.3.5 cells induces ejaculation in males and results in a significant preference for an illuminated zone over non-illuminated areas, which is not seen in controls.
