Two point mutations have been introduced into the RRM2 domain, resulting in K239A and F241A amino acid replacements.
Ovarian cysts expressing aretRRM2.Scer\UAS.P\T.T:Avic\GFP-m6 under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 have the usual 16 germline cells, oogenesis proceeds to completion, the embryos are not noticeably smaller than normal, and the dorsal appendages appear wild type. However many embryos exhibit abdominal segmentation defects, having fewer than the usual 8 denticle belts.
