mGFP6 is an artificial derivative of the naturally occurring fluorescent protein encoded by the Aequorea victoria GFP gene (UniProtKB:P42212). It contains mutations that improve the maturation and spectral properties of the protein: F64L, S65T V163A, I167T, S175G and also has codon usage changes that remove a cryptic intron and optimize expression (adapted from FBrf0103364).
