Point mutations have been introduced into the RRM2 and RRM3 domains of bru1UASp.mGFP6 resulting in four amino acid replacements, K239A and F241A (RRM2) and N521A and F523A (RRM3).
Ovarian cysts expressing aretRRM2+3.Scer\UAS.P\T.T:Avic\GFP-m6 under the control of Scer\GAL4nos.UTR.T:Hsim\VP16 have the usual 16 germline cells, oogenesis proceeds to completion, the embryos are not noticeably smaller than normal, and the dorsal appendages appear wild type. No abdominal segmentation phenotypes are observed.
