oxBFP is a monomeric blue fluorescent protein with an excitation peak of 385nm and an emission peak of 448nm in vitro. It is an artificial derivative of the naturally occurring fluorescent protein encoded by the Aequorea victoria GFP gene (UniProtKB:P42212), derived by mutagenesis of EBFP2, containing in addition the mutations C48S, C70V and V163A (PMID:26158227).
