SGFP2 is a monomeric green fluorescent protein with an excitation peak of 495nm and an emission peak of 512nm in vitro. It is an artificial derivative of the naturally occurring fluorescent protein encoded by the Aequorea victoria GFP gene (UniProtKB:P42212), containing the mutations F64L, S65T, S72A, M153T, V163A, S175G, A206K relative to the wild-type GFP sequence (PMID:17323929).
