Larvae expressing PrpkdsRNA.Scer\UAS.462 under the control of Scer\GAL4da.G32 are reduced in size compared to controls. Pupation is inhibited in these animals, but adult escapers are seen, which do not have defects in patterning or differentiation.

Expression of PrpkdsRNA.Scer\UAS.462 under the control of Scer\GAL4salm.EPv results in a clear reduction in the distance between wing veins 3 and 4, due to a reduction in cell size. The phenotype is enhanced if the flies are also carrying Df(3L)GN24.

Clones in the third larval instar wing disc expressing PrpkdsRNA.Scer\UAS.462 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU and induced at 60 +/- 12 hours after egg laying are recovered, but they are smaller than control clones, disaggregated and show apoptotic features.

Clones in the fat body expressing PrpkdsRNA.Scer\UAS.462 under the control of Scer\GAL4Act5C.PU and induced 36 +/- 12 hours after egg laying are smaller than control clones at the larval instar stage.
