      Eggs from yemα2/Df(3R)3450 females are normally fertilised and they initiate development, but the embryos die before hatching.

      The male pronucleus fails to decondense at the pronuclear apposition stage in eggs derived from yemα2/Df(3R)3450 females.

      yemα2/Df(3R)3450 zygotically mutant adults are viable, but survival rates are reduced.
