UAS regulatory sequences drive expression of the RE28911 cDNA carrying insertion mutations after the start codon of both the SclA and SclB open reading frames, resulting in a frameshift in each open reading frame. The frameshifts give rise to peptides of the same size but of a completely different sequence (MAKPATCSPPLASWPSCFSSSTSSMHM and MMRQKVCSPPSSSWPSCCSCSMPSTKAS) to wild type.
Expression of M{UAS-SclA-SclB.FS} (which carries both SclAFS.Scer\UAS.AB and SclBFS.Scer\UAS.AB) under the control of Scer\GAL4Mef2.PR does not increase cardiac arrhythmicity compared to control flies.
SclAFS.UAS.AB, Scer\GAL4tin.CΔ4, SclBFS.UAS.AB fails to rescue Df(2L)Scl12/Df(2L)Sclg6
